Concierge Physicians Directory
Concierge Physicians Directory The complete directory of Concierge Physicians in the United States is online. Concierge Physicians goes by many names, boutique medicine, retainer medicine, executive health, VIP medicine, and personalized medicine. Finding the right Concierge Physician is the most important step for patient considering the best care. Concierge Physician is a new style of practice with old roots, in which doctors limit their patient base in order to provide patients with personalized service, high quality care, 24-7 availability, and other amenities. In exchange for this enhanced personal attention, patients pay physicians an annual fee. This concierge fee enables physicians to increase their compensation while managing their workload. In addition to receiving an annual fee, most concierge physicians continue to receive reimbursements from health plans and private pay clients. Concierge Physicians is a relationship between a patient and a primary care physician in which the patient pays an annual fee or retainer. This may or may not be in addition to other charges. In exchange for the retainer, doctors provide enhanced care. Other terms in use include boutique medicine, retainer-based medicine, and innovative medical practice design. The practice is also referred to as membership medicine, concierge health care, cash only practice, direct care, direct primary care, and direct practice medicine. While all Concierge Physicians practices share similarities, they vary widely in their structure, payment requirements, and form of operation. In particular, they differ in the level of service provided and the amount of the fee charged. There are an estimated 5,000 concierge, or membership medicine doctors throughout the U.S. Concierge physicians care for fewer patients than in a conventional practice. All generally claim to be accessible via cell phone or email at any time of day or night or offer some other special service beyond the normal care provided. The annual fees vary widely, from $600 to $5,000 per year for an individual, with the lower annual fees being in addition to the usual fees for each service and the higher annual fees including most services. Some concierge practices do not accept insurance of any kind. These are as cash-only or direct primary care practices. By refusing to deal with insurance companies, these practices can keep overhead and administrative costs low, thereby providing affordable healthcare to patients. They become concierge only if the practice assesses an annual or monthly fee instead of or in addition to a fee for each medical service. Other concierge practices do take insurance, even Medicare, but ask for an annual fee for additional services exclusive of insurance plans. This annual fee is not a substitute for medical insurance, and generally does not cover consultations outside the practice, laboratory procedures, medicines, hospitalizations, or emergency care from other providers.
Implant Material
Breast implants alter the size and shape of the breasts. There are two primary types of breast implant material: saline-filled and silicone gel-filled implants. Saline implants have a silicone elastomer shell filled with sterile saline liquid. Silicone gel implants have a silicone shell filled with a viscous silicone gel. Saline and silicone breast implants both have an outer silicone shell. The implants differ in material and consistency. The doctor fills saline into the implants often at the time of surgery. Some criticize implants have for feeling hard or unnatural, but improved surgical techniques such as placing the implant behind the chest muscle and slightly overfilling it have lessened these complaints. Saline breast implants are available to women age 18 and older for breast augmentation, or women of any age for breast reconstruction. Pre-filled silicone implants contain a silicone gel. A thick sticky fluid closely mimics the feel of human fat. Some women feel that silicone breast implants look and feel more like natural breast tissue. Silicone breast implants are available to women age 22 and older for breast augmentation, or women of any age for breast reconstruction. Implants are named according to what fills them. In other words, fill saline implants with saline and fill silicone implants with liquid silicone gel, which has the consistency of molasses. Regardless of what breast implants filling are, they all have a solid silicone shell. Implantation of solid silicone, or silastic, is used in millions of people with pacemakers, artificial joints, heart valves, penile implants, and artificial lenses for the eye. Solid silicone is a very different substance than silicone gel, which fills silicone gel implants. It might be helpful to think of breast implants as being similar to balloons. Fill a balloon with water, helium, or air, but it still has the same pliable plastic outer layer regardless of what is placed inside. There are currently two main options — silicone breast implants and saline breast implants. Both have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. In general, silicone gel-filled implants are smoother and softer than their saline-filled counterparts are. Silicone implants feel like a semisolid gel, while saline implants are more like water balloons. Many women prefer the softer, more natural-feel of silicone implants to saline breast implants, especially those with little breast tissue such as women undergoing breast reconstruction following breast cancer. Silicone-gel implants are also less likely to ripple than saline breast implants. A breast implant can be filled with saline or silicone gel. Both silicone and saline implants have an outer shell made of silicone-rubber material. Breast implants also come in a variety of sizes, shapes and profiles. Another important variable is texture. Implants can be smooth or textured. Gummy bear breast implants are also made of cohesive silicone gel, but the gel has the consistency of a gummy bear, meaning if cut it in half, it will not leak. These implants are only available to women who enroll in a clinical trial. An implant is a medical device manufactured to replace a missing biological structure, support a damaged biological structure or enhance an existing biological structure. Medical implants are manmade devices whereas transplants are transferred biomedical tissue. The surface of implants that contact the body might be made of a biomedical material such as titanium, silicone, or apatite, depending on what is the most functional. In some cases, implants contain electronics, as found in artificial pacemakers and cochlear implants. Some implants are bioactive like subcutaneous drug delivery devices--implantable pills or drug-eluting stents. Among the most common types of medical implants are pins, rods, screws and plates that anchor fractured bones as they heal.
Natural Oils
Natural oils contain hundreds of organic constituents such as hormones, vitamins and other natural elements that are beneficial to the skin. Natural oils fall into two general categories: essential oils and carrier or base oils. Essential oils are volatile compounds found in plants. They give fruits, flowers, herbs and spices their fragrance and flavor. Obtained by distillation or expression, essential oils are highly concentrated and used at a very low concentration. Carrier oils, such as almond, sunflower, olive, walnut and other oils exist in higher concentration in cosmetics and when applied directly to the skin nourish, soften and protect it. Diluting essential oils makes them good bases. Oils are highly penetrating. They easily enter through a cell wall delivering essential vitamins, oxygen and nutrients. This helps stimulate cell metabolism and the regeneration process. The ability of oils to penetrate and carry nutrients through the cell wall to the cell nucleus can prevent cell deterioration, which can lead to infections and diseases.

Eyelid Complication
Eyelid complications related to patient dissatisfaction may be preventable before or correctable after surgery. To avoid aesthetic eyelid complications, it is important for a patient to understand the procedure and what kind of results to expect. Patients may complain of being unable to close their eyes completely. If the surgeon removes too much skin during the initial surgery, the surgeon may harvest tissue from the mouth to elevate the tissue on the inside of the eyelid. Alternatively, the doctor may decide to use skin from behind the ear, which closely resembles eyelid skin. Some patients end up unhappy with the results of eye surgery and require corrective cosmetic procedures as well as functional surgery. Revision surgery can be complex in nature. Tissue around the eyes and lids is extremely sensitive and surgery can cause several issues. On many occasions, eye surgery alters the shape of the eye: the rounded shape of the eye corners appears instead of the natural shape. In many cases, the natural shape of the eyes is also not symmetrical. Misshapen eyelids can cause irritation when blinking and often patients complain of dry eyes. Eyelid complications are the potential risks associated with eyelid surgery. The risk of eyelid complications is relatively rare, though when they do occur they can be quite injurious. There are a number of different types of blepharoplasty complications. Patients may be dissatisfied with the results because of unrealistic expectations, poor surgical choices by an inept surgeon who performed an under correction, or resulted in asymmetry. There are also significant medical complications associated with eyelid surgery. Eyelid complications may be associated with the actual surgery or be problems that develop during the recovery period.
